Authentic Berber Rugs & Blankets
Direct From Atlas Artisans

Moroccan blankets, also known as “berber blankets” are handwoven textiles that have been made in Morocco for centuries. They are made from a variety of natural fibers, including wool, cotton, and silk, and are known for their vibrant colors and intricate patterns. The blankets are traditionally used as bedding, but they are also often used as decorative throws, tablecloths, and even wall hangings.

Moroccan blankets are typically made by Berber women who live in the Atlas Mountains of Morocco. They use a combination of traditional techniques passed down through generations, as well as modern methods. Each blanket is unique, and the patterns and colors used often have symbolic meaning.

Moroccan blankets can be found in a variety of stores, including home decor shops and online retailers. They can be a great way to add a touch of global flair to your home and also make great gifts.

When buying a Moroccan blanket, it is important to ensure that the product you are buying is authentic and made by the Berber people and not a mass-produced version. To ensure the authenticity of a Moroccan blanket, it’s best to purchase from a reputable source and look for the label of authenticity.

In addition, it is important to be aware of the cultural and traditional significance of the Moroccan blanket, and to use it in a respectful manner.

Overall, Moroccan blankets are a beautiful and unique addition to any home and a great way to support the traditional artisans who make them.
